Prae Wood Primary School

Box Tops for Books is making a huge difference to schools in the UK and Ireland. The school which collected the highest number of tokens in 2007/8 is Prae Wood Primary School in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Prae Wood School was opened in April 1971, to meet the increasing demand for primary education in the area arising from the building of a new estate. It has been a popular local choice ever since. Their motto is ‘Everyone Valued, Everyone Learning’ and all of these new books certainly contribute to that!

The children and teachers at Prae Wood are making good use of their new books in all of the classrooms. Many of their books were becoming out of date and a little ‘tired’ so Box Tops for Books gave a real boost to the school’s resources.

After much counting of vouchers, the staff at Prae Wood were extremely excited to be able to claim a fantastic 382 books – valuing £850.

The parents and children, staff, even a stranger who walked in off the street donated box tops to the school, from individual ones to bagfuls so it is thanks to all our cereal eaters that we have been so lucky.
