Success stories
Briary primary school
Box Tops for Books has consistently made a difference to Briary Primary School in Kent over the last few years. Due to all their efforts they were the highest redeeming school for the 2006/2007 scheme collecting a massive 21,236 tokens!
Briary Primary School opened in 1973 and has 340 pupils. The Head teacher of the school, Mr Cooper, stated:
"We are a Reading Recovery school and employ a specially trained teacher and six assistants to ensure that 100% of children go into Year 4 with age appropriate reading skills.
We encourage lots of individual reading as well as group reading which means we need lots of books! The books from the Box Tops Scheme have really made a difference to us by providing sets of books that we would not otherwise have been able to afford.
The results are starting to reflect all the extra expertise and resources given to reading. This year Key Stage 1 SATS reading jumped by 25% and we have only just begun. We'd like to thank Box Tops for Books for helping us to make these positive steps forward."
Briary is just one of the many schools throughout the UK and Ireland who are enjoying the rewards associated with taking part in the Box Tops for Books scheme. Make sure your school doesn't miss out and start collecting tokens now so you too can claim your free books!
