About the site

The Box Tops for Books website is designed to tell you all about how our free books scheme works and to provide lots of useful information, resources and activities to help teachers and parents help children develop their literacy.

We'll give you reminders of key dates on our home page so that you don't forget to take advantage of bonus banking periods for tokens.

In the Box Top scheme section, you'll find all you need to know about how the scheme works, how schools can register and exactly how you can start collecting free books.

The Coordinators section is where users can register a school and log in to the site. New users will be given a Unique Reference Number (URN) to access the site. All the information Coordinators need to get involved, start collecting tokens and selecting free books can be found here.

Teachers will find a range of free literacy resources and ideas for teaching 5-11 year-olds in the Teachers section. There are teaching materials, activity sheets and teachers' notes, as well as assembly ideas for use with 5-7 year olds and 7-11 year-olds. All our materials are linked to specific curriculum areas - Science, Geography, History etc - so you can look for what you need under these headings. We'll be adding new resources throughout the year so do check the site each term.

In our Parents section, there's guidance and support for parents who want to help develop their children's enthusiasm for reading. There are interactive books for parents to read with children and information on how healthy breakfasts play a part in learning. Plus, there's information on how parents can help collect free books for the school library.

If you need to contact us, you'll find our details in Contact Box Tops.
